Ellis County Women and Business invite you to Fall into Fun this October 25. This fundraiser will fund scholarships for school age girls to purchase agriculture animals and to attend trade schools. The evening will be under the stars; a light draped tree canopy will light our dinner, dancing, and games for the night. Be sure to take advantage of the corn maze with your friends or your sweetie!

Salt Creek exhibits a level of energy and enthusiasm that only adds to the excitement of their performances. All of the Salt Creek members have roots and make their homes in the Ft. Worth area. The Downtown String Band plays traditional acoustic, bluegrass, and swing music with a few modern twists thrown in! The band is a fun and informal collaboration of The Gerald Jones, Alan Tompkins, Michael Morrison, Hailey Sandoz, and the other great musicians who join them from time to time! These folks are outstanding musicians and singers who enjoy playing acoustic music in the style of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and the Soggy Bottom Boys. Get ready for a fun show – they will have your toes tapping along with the fiddle and banjo!

Wade started writing country songs shortly after becoming involved with competitive bass fishing. Country Covers by Merle, Hank, George and others was all the music he knew. But, he wrote a tune used as the theme song for a bass fishing show filmed here in Texas. (The only weekly television show devoted to Texas lakes and Texas bass.) Twenty-somethin' bass fishin' songs followed.
Some of Wade's bass fishin' buddies and competitors said he was a pretty good songwriter. His music friends thought "Well, he must be a pretty good bass fisherman." Once they got together, the jig was up!
Over the last few years, Wade has written some tunes with a little more traditional country subject matter. He and the band can entertain a crowd with the best of them, and we're excited to have them out to Shadow Creek!
Alan Tompkins, Dallas-based bluegrass banjo player, upright bass player, singer, founder of the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation, and host of the Bluegrass Heritage Radio Show. A native of the farming and coal mining country of western Kentucky, Alan grew up steeped in the sounds of classic country, Southern gospel, and bluegrass music. It was a thrill for him to record his new album, No Part of Nothin'. The cast is amazing, with dozens of IBMA and GRAMMY® award wins and nominations among them. Get your copy of No Part of Nothin' today and enjoy the ride!
